- The BMW X1 20i Tech Edition gets a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system
- It also has head-up display, wireless charger and 205W Hi-Fi sound system
- It is offered only in the 20i petrol iteration and no diesel is on sale
BMW has launched the new X1 20i Tech Edition in India priced at Rs. 43 lakh, ex-showroom. The BMW X1 20i Tech Edition is available in two body colours - Alpine White, Phytonic Blue (Metallic) with Sensatec Oyster Black upholstery. Now the biggest update on the Tech Edition is a larger 10.25-inch central infotainment screen. Other variants of the X1 get an 8.8-inch infotainment screen as standard, which is a tad smaller compared to what we are seeing in its segment rivals.

Other variants of the BMW X1 gets 8.8-inch touchscreen as standard.
Now obviously, the high-resolution 10.25-inch unit us a touchscreen, but it does retain the rotary iDrive controller on the centre console. BMW has also added a new head-up display, wireless charging function and a new 205W Hi-Fi Sound System to the X1 as part of the Tech Edition update. Now other than that, standard elements like the stack on buttons on the dashboard, analogue instrument cluster and even the steering wheel have been carried over and they now seem to look a bit dated for its segment. Standard features also include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with six colours, electric adjustable front seats with memory function, reclined rear seats with centre armrest and wireless Apple CarPlay among others. Safety features include six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and electric parking brake with auto hold among others.

Under the hood, the X1 Tech Edition gets the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 189 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque and is mated to seven-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. It also features steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and launch control. The BMW X1 20i Tech Edition is available only in petrol iteration and there is no diesel variant on offer.
