Dodge Celebrates 25 years of the Viper With 5 Limited Edition Models

- Dodge also said that this will be Viper's last year of production
- The Viper has been a part of many Hollywood movies as well
- Bookings for the 5 Limited Edition models will begin shortly
It is Dodge Viper's 25th birthday this year and the American muscle car brand revealed 5 limited edition models of the Viper, which happens to be one of the most iconic muscle cars in automotive history. But along with the announcement that it will have 5 limited edition models, Dodge also dropped a bomb and said that this will be the last year of the Viper's production. After 2016, Dodge will pull the plug on the Viper. The Dodge Viper has the maximum track records in USA of any production car in the world. The five limited edition models pay tribute to some of the most insane and iconic Viper models in the past. All these limited edition models will get a serialized instrument panel and a custom car cover with the name of the owner on it. Here are the five models in question. The Dodge Viper gets an 8.4-litre V10 engine that pumps out 645bhp and an unimaginable 814Nm of torque, the maximum torque of any naturally aspirated sportscar engine in the world. The standard tech list includes multi-stage stability control, traction control and an updated 4-channel ABS.
1. Viper 1:28 Edition ACR (American Club Racer)
(The original 2010 Viper 1:28 ACR model)It is a tribute to a 2015 production model that lapped the Laguna Seca circuit in America in, you guessed it, 1 minute and 28 seconds. It gets black exterior with red stripes, aero package and carbon ceramic brakes. The interiors will also feature the same black theme and red ACR accent stitching. Dodge says that 28 models of this particular trim will be built.
2. Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR
(The 1998 Viper GTS-R)This is a tribute to the famous Viper paint scheme of white exterior and blue stripes of the 1998 Viper GTS-R GT2 Championship. This model also gets aero package, carbon ceramic brakes, USA flag decal on the B-pillar, ACR interior theme, red seat belts etc. Dodge will make 100 examples of this particular limited edition model.
3. Viper Voodoo II Edition ACR
(2010 Viper Voodoo ACR)This limited edition model is a throwback to the original 2010 Viper Voodoo edition. It will wear a black exterior with a single graphite stripe on the left with a red outline. The interior will have the same ACR theme with silver accents. Dodge will build 31 units of this special edition model.
4. Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC
(The Original 2010 Viper Snakeskin GTS)The snakeskin green colour scheme with a similarly patterned SRT stripe harks back to the 2010 Snakeskin ACR model. It also gets a GT Black theme for the interior and an advanced aerodynamics package. 25 units of this model will be produced.
5. Viper Dealer Edition ACR: there will be 33 units manufactured for this model and it will be available exclusively through select Dodge dealers who sell the maximum amount of Vipers in USA. It gets a white and blue colour scheme on the exterior, carbon ceramic brakes, Extreme Aero package and ACR interiors.
Even on a regular model, the company gives you the option to choose from 16,000 exterior paint options, 24,000 custom stripe colours, 11 alloy wheel options, 16 trims for the interior, 7 aero packages, 4 suspension options and 3 brake packages. So technically, there are approximately 50 million ways one can customise their Dodge Viper. Dodge hasn't revealed the reasons for deciding to pull the plug on the Viper but Automobile enthusiasts will surely miss the Viper once its production ceases next year.
