F1: Hamilton Fastest in FP1 as Button Separates the Two Mercedes Cars at the Italian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton was comfortably the fastest drivers during the opening practice session for the Italian Grand Prix while it was McLaren's Jenson Button who was second fastest. Hamilton secured a time of 1:26.187 which saw him steer half a second clear of Button.
The McLaren car looked in good shape as it managed to divide the two Mercedes drivers. Nico Rosberg was third fastest and was more than, while Fernando Alonso was fourth with the only other car within a second of Hamilton's time.
Kevin Magnussen was fifth and was just ahead of Sebastian Vettel. His team-mate Daniel Ricciardo hit trouble midway through the session. He informed that there was an issue with the car on the radio and could manage to complete only 12 laps.
Kimi Raikkonen ended the session in seventh place ahead of Sergio Perez, Daniil Kvyat and Nico Hulkenberg. Force India saw Dani Juncadella drive for the first half hour of the session and completed ten laps before handing the car back to Perez, who was only able to emerge in the final 25 minutes.
Both the Williams drivers were placed in 12th and 13th place repectively with Massa making a mistake trying to search for a braking point at Turn 1.
Roberto Merhi too delivered an impressive performance on his FP1 debut for Caterham, beating team-mate Marcus Ericsson by over 0.2s. The FP2 session will kick start in a while and we'll have all the results right here.
