Fisker Automotive recently released a teaser of its 'Pear' compact electric vehicle. It will be the smallest EV from the company, with its manufacturing slated to begin 2024 at Lordstown Motors' former manufacturing facility in Ohio, USA. Fisker will collaborate with FoxConn for manufacturing the Pear. The previous teaser showed the Pear from a top-down perspective while the new teaser render shows a front three-quarters view of the sporty hatchback. The Fisker Pear is likely to be priced at $29,900 before taxes and incentives, with bookings beginning at $250. Interestingly, 'Pear' stands for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution.

"The Pear will be a revolutionary electric vehicle that won't fit into any existing segment. The exterior design will feature new lighting technology and a wraparound front windscreen inspired by a glider plane glass canopy, enhancing frontal vision," Fisker Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker said.

Fisker and its partner Foxconn recently completed the acquisition of an operational 6.2-million square-foot vehicle manufacturing facility in Ohio and aim to manufacture over 250,000 units a year once production ramps up to full scale. Fisker says it has designed and engineered the Pear to reduce parts for rapid, simplified manufacturing. The Fisker Pear will be built on a new proprietary architecture. This new platform will underpin two additional models Fisker will introduce later. The Fisker Pear follows the company's first vehicle, the Fisker Ocean, which starts production in Austria on November 17, 2022.

Fisker Automotive will manufacture electric cars in India along with Foxconn, its manufacturing partner. Foxconn which already has a huge presence in India as it is the contract manufacturer for Xiaomi and Apple recently has made a huge foray into the electric vehicle space will be key to Fisker's plan. Fisker already has a partnership with Foxconn and Magna for the manufacturing of its electric cars in the US and its founder believes it will help his company launch Rs 22 lakh EVs in India before Tesla which will feature unique technologies.
