Hyundai i20 - 2015 CNB Viewers' Choice Award Nominee

Hyundai was looking for an ideal successor for the Getz in all of its markets and wanted to become a significant player in the premium hatchback segment. The i20 fit the bill and when it was launched in 2008, was quite the car. Hyundai started exporting the car out of its Chennai plant and in 2012 it received the much deserved facelift.

But this year, Hyundai decided that India will be the first country to witness the second generation of the car which they named as the Elite i20. This one is based on the rather European-esque Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy. The car looks bolder at the front with the hexagonal front grille while the rear reminds you of the Veloster and overall is simply lip-smackingly good. In fact, the black coloured C-Pillars looks to have started a trend of sorts.

It comes with a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engine which impresses in terms of power delivery and mileage. It's also been partly responsible for the company's fortune in India as this year the company has garnered 21.6% market share, its highest ever since it came to India.
