Is This The Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0?

- The Yamaha YZF-R15 version 3.0 has been a much awaited model
- The bike spotted in Indonesia comes with updated design and styling
- The bike is likely to get a bigger 155cc single-cylinder engine
While there is little know about the new model that has been spied. Reports suggest that this could, in fact, be the Yamaha R15 V3.0. The image reveals a redesigned front for the bike, which get subtle yet noticeable changes with sharper and wider twin headlamp cluster with a slight kink at the corner. The design seems to have taken inspiration from the new R25 sold in Indonesia. The headlamp though continues with halogen bulbs instead of the all LED unit that was expected earlier.
The side fairing gets minimal changes while the paint scheme too remains similar to the outgoing model.

Yamaha R15 V3.0
That said, latest reports suggest that the Yamaha R15 V3.0 will be gaining more power from a new and bigger 155cc single-cylinder engine with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation). Power is expected in the vicinity of 18-20bhp and torque will uprated to around 17Nm. The 6-speed transmission will continue.
Yamaha Indonesia is yet to announce any details on the launch of the R15 V3.0, and the Japanese marque's Indian arm has been mum about the development as well. We did reach out to Yamaha India seeking a comment, but our query remained answered at the time of writing this story.
A clearer idea of the model is expected once it goes on sale in Indonesia. While Yamaha India could bring the R15 V3.0 by the second half of 2017. Keep watching this space for more details.
