Mahindra’s Scorpio N To Get Qualcomm’s Digital Chassis

Mahindra and Qualcomm have announced a collaboration for the new Scorpio-N whose pre-booking will open soon in India. Qualcomm’s expertise and technologies will power the in-car infotainment experiences on the SUV. Mahindra will be leveraging the Digital Chassis stack and the 3rd generation of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit which has even been designed to provide computing and intelligence for in-car experiences. Mahindra is touting connected car and AI technologies at the heart of the Scorpio N which will also utile Visteon’s smart Core cockpit domain controller that has been integrated in the Snapdragon Cockpit.
The Scorpio N gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster while it gets an 8-inch infotainment screen that is propelled by the Snapdragon Cockpit platform. Mahindra and Qualcomm claim new levels of personalisation and natural interaction and ultra HD experiences.
“The consumer of today expects and demands that connected, intelligent and smart technologies play a greater role in the automotive experience. We are applying over two decades of auto expertise to transform the Scorpio-N into a digitally advanced and feature-rich SUV. This underscores each of our companies’ commitment to enable premium automotive experiences for next-generation vehicles, which originated with the highly successful XUV700,” said Uday Dodla, Sr Director, Business Development, Qualcomm India Private Limited. Dodla is basically in charge of Qualcomm’s automotive business in India.
“With the tough yet sophisticated Scorpio-N, we have re-engineered our iconic Scorpio brand from the ground-up to meet the aspirations of the young and tech-savvy customers. Qualcomm Technologies was identified as the partner of choice to bring alive our vision of delivering state-of-the-art product through a truly pathbreaking experience to our customers. Using the advanced capabilities of the Snapdragon Automotive technologies integrated in our SUVs, we are reimagining the standard for an intelligently connected vehicle and delivering a safer and engaging driving experience,” said R. Velusamy, president, automotive technology and product development M&M.
This is not the first time Qualcomm and Mahindra are collaborating as the Snapdragon cockpit solution was also used on the XUV700. The XUV700 also added the ADAS stack from Intel-owned MobilEye, but the interface was powered by Qualcomm.
