Highlights

After a very wet Qualification yesterday, the Sepang track was all dry and humid with perfect conditions for a fantastic race. Hamilton continued his form from yesterday's qualification round and ended up leading the race from start to finish. Hamilton, today, won the Malaysian Grand Prix, for the first time ever in his career, by a long margin with Rosberg in second place and Vettel coming in third.

The Mercedes driver took off once the lights went green with Red Bull driver Vettel in hot pursuit. However, Vettel did not get off to the best of starts and Rosberg capitalised on this. Daniel Ricciardo was right behind Vettel with Alonso on his tail. Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen suffered a puncture to the right rear tyre, all thanks to a collision with McLaren's Kevin Magnussen, for which the McLaren driver suffered a 5 second penalty. Kimi lost a lot of time on the track eventually finishing the race in 11th place.

Hamilton was in the zone today as he pounced on the opportunity and got clear air ahead of him and with the pace that Mercedes has been able to generate with these cars, there was no catching the 29-year old British driver as he continuously built up the lead.

Team mate Rosberg in the meanwhile was fighting out with Vettel while the battle for the 4th place was really fought between Ricciardo and Alonso. It was not Ricciardo's day, however, as on the 42nd Lap when he would be looking to finish the race somewhere around 5th place, his front left tyre was not fitted properly in the pit lane causing a massive delay. Further one lap after this incident, Ricciardo's front wing gave way and he had to be called back into the pits which eventually put him in 16th place and eventually retiring in the 51st lap.

The fight between William's Filipe Massa and McLarens Jenson Button for the sixth place created a lot of drama and action in the closing laps of the race. But the surprise was Force India's Hulkenberg, where he too was fighting off a challenge thrown by Ferrari's Alonso. With 3 laps to go the Spaniard flew past the Force India driver eventually putting the Ferrari in 4th place.

    Here are the results:

    1) Lewis Hamilton

    2) Nico Rosberg

    3) Sebastian Vettel
