Safe Cars for Children That You Should Know About

- The list has some surprises to say the least.
Child safety is not usually analyzed while purchasing any vehicle though some brands do not rank very highly on this count. Yet, there are still some cars which are good in terms of child safety as per industry experts.

Mahindra XUV300
The Mahindra XUV300 is one of the safest cars for children, having attained the 5-star Global NCAP rating. The XUV300 has got a four star rating in terms of child safety. It gets ISOFIX mounts, seven airbags, ABS with EBD, front parking sensors, heated ORVMs, ESP, CBC, HSA, and rear parking camera with dynamic assist.
Tata Altroz
The Tata Altroz is the first premium hatch in India to obtain a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests. It has a 3-star child safety rating which is impressive. It also gets features like ISOFIX mounts, height adjustable seat belts, voice alerts, CSC, ABS, EBD and reverse parking camera.
Tata Nexon
The Tata Nexon has also obtained a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash testing, while getting a 3-star rating for child safety as well. It has several safety features including ISOFIX mounts, hill hold assist, electronic traction control, and more.
Tata Tiago
The Tata Tiago has scored 4-stars in the Global NCAP crash test for adult occupancy while it has 3 stars in terms of child safety. The Tiago also comes with features like CSC, rear parking camera and sensors, and ABS with EBD.
Volkswagen Polo
The Volkswagen Polo, while scoring 4 stars for adult occupancy, has scored 3 stars in terms of child safety as well. It gets rear parking sensors, speed-sending door locks, ABS, and dual front airbags.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets a 3 star child safety rating with good features like ISOFIX mounts, electronic stability program, ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors and camera and hill hold assist.

Mahindra Thar
An interesting name on the list, the Mahindra Thar scored the highest for any Indian vehicle in the Global NCAP test for child safety. The Mahindra Thar has received a four star safety rating with regard to protecting the head and chest of children in the rear seat. The Thar can be regarded as possibly the safest vehicle for children on many parameters.
Tata Punch
Tata's new model, the Punch mini-SUV, has already obtained a four star crash testing rating from Global NCAP. It is one of the safest cars for children in the rear seat. It also scored a five star rating in terms of adult occupancy.
