Skoda commenced production of the new Slavia last month at its Chakan facility and the model is already on showroom floors pan India. The Slavia is the second offering from the automaker under the India 2.0 strategy and is based on the MQB A0 IN platform. The model shares its underpinnings with the Kushaq that includes the engine and transmission choices as well as a basket of features. The design language on the Slavia mimics that of the larger sedans from Skoda including the Octavia and Superb.

The Slavia is manufactured at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India's plant in Chakan, Maharashtra
Prices will be crucial on the Skoda Slavia that will most likely be the brand's most affordable offering in India. The compact sedan will replace the Rapid in the company's line-up. The new Slavia will take on the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna Honda City, as well as the Vento replacement from Volkswagen arriving later in the year.
