Tips To Take Care Of Your Electric Two-Wheeler

- Battery pack is the key element in any electric vehicle.
- Owners should also keep a check on tyre pressure to get optimum range.
- Regular routine check is necessary for mechanical parts and electronics.
It is a known fact that maintaining an electric vehicle is comparatively easier than maintaining a conventional car or a motorcycle. Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) powered vehicles have more running parts that wear out often and need to be replaced. Then there are more types of essential lubricants too without which they can't function and definitely not optimally. But you are free of all these worries in an EV and it's even easier in case of an electric two-wheeler. Charging In A Safe Environment

It's important to charge your electric two-wheelers with a safe charging point.
As we already said, battery pack is the main lifeline on any electric vehicle and it's important to keep it in a good condition. So when you plug-in your electric scooter or motorcycle to charge the battery, make sure that it's parked at a safe and dry place and the chances of voltage fluctuation is minimal as it can cause harm to the battery. Also, in case your EV runs on a lead-acid battery, do keep a check on the distilled water levels.
Don't Let The Battery Drain Out Completely

Keep at least 10 to 15 per cent of the battery charge in reserve.
It's always advisable to not let the battery of your EVs drain out completely and charge it at least when about 10 to 15 per cent power is remaining. First up, it will take you longer durations to top-up the battery pack from nil and theirs is more pressure on the socket leading to heat-up.
Routine Check-Up
Now we understand that an EV do without lubricants and there are lesser parts to take care of, making it easy to maintain compared to a conventional vehicle. Still, a routine check-up at your dealership is necessary to take care of all mechanical and electronics so that it keeps on running smoothly.
Regular Monitoring Of Tyre Pressure

Optimum tyre pressure helps in deriving maximum range.
The range your electric vehicle will offer depends extensively rolling resistance and ultimately on tyres. Hence, it is important to maintain the tyre pressure advised by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or EV maker to get the optimum ride range.
Vacation Mode
Quite a few electric two-wheelers are being offered with the vacation mode nowadays in which the battery and electronics go to sleep mode. Essentially, it lets the system know that that the EV won't be used for a period of time and shuts down all electronics like Bluetooth or other connectivity sources that tend to consume the battery.
