KTM 390 Adventure
(KTM 390 Adventure will share several of its parts with the 390 Duke)It will perhaps be the most anticipated two-wheeler launch in 2019. With the advent of the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the BMW G 310 GS, there is a demand for budget adventure bikes. With KTM's off-road expertise and the very capable engine of the 390 Duke, the 390 Adventure could very well be a game-changer. In fact, test mules of the KTM 390 Adventure have already been spotted testing in India. It uses the same 373 cc single-cylinder engine, making 43 bhp and 37 Nm and being paired to a 6-speed gearbox. We are really excited to ride this one. The 390 Adventure is expected to have a price tag of around Rs. 2.6-2.75 (ex-showroom), and will compete with the BMW G 310 GS and even the Kawasaki Versys-X 300.

Expect the bike to get a re-designed fairing along with new headlamp assembly, re-worked rear sub-frame and maybe an improvement in engine components as well. Expect it to get the same full-colour TFT instrument console as well. Expect the motorcycle to be launched in the second half of 2019 and carry a slight premium in terms of pricing as well. It will go up against the TVS Apache RR 310 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
Kawasaki Z400
(Kawasaki Z400 was first showcased at EICMA 2018)Kawasaki launched the Ninja 400 in India last year and we expect it to launch the Z400 in India as well. First showcased at the 2018 EICMA, the new Kawasaki Z400 is the stripped version of the Ninja 400, minus the fairing, clip-on handlebars and the aggressive riding position. What you get instead is the same powerful engine and chassis as the Ninja 400, with minimal body panels. The 399 cc parallel-twin motor makes 44 bhp, which is a 6 bhp increase over the Z300. The torque remains the same at 38 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes with an assist/slipper clutch. We expect the price to be just above Rs. 4 lakh.
Yamaha MT-03
(Yamaha MT-03)The Yamaha MT-03 is the naked variant of the YZF R3 and could be launched in India this year in the second half, possibly during the festive season. It will have the same 321 cc parallel-twin motor which makes 41.4 bhp and 29.6 Nm of peak torque, while being paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The styling is sharp on the bike and we expect it to get ABS as standard fitment. The Yamaha MT-03 will go up against the likes of the KTM 390 Duke and the BMW G 310 GS. We expect the pricing to be at Rs. 3 lakh.

And we say that images of the Royal Enfield 350/500 Trials have been leaked online. These motorcycles have already been spotted testing and we could see them getting launched in the first half of the year itself. Expect them to be fitted with scrambler-like equipment such as knobby tyres, single-seat, and upswept exhaust and so on. The bikes will remain the same mechanically but expect them to get ABS right from the start.
