Volvo Reveals 'R-Design' Models of the S90 and the V90 Estate

- Both the S90 and V90 R-Design cars feature updated Sport Chassis
- The R-Design cars also have different trim options for interiors
- They might make it to India in 2017
The Swedish manufacturer recently showed off the sportier 'R-Design' models of the S90 sedan and the V90 Estate. There are a few styling changes from the regular models such as a mesh grille rather than the one with silver slats and piano black trim at both ends. The alloys too are differently designed; carrying a diamond- cut five-spoke shape done in matt black. The fog lamps are integrated into the bumpers with small spoilers as well.
"R-Design delivers an edge to our elegant estate and saloon models in our 90 Series, with a winning combination of a sportier, more responsive drive with clearly visible performance styling," said Bjorn Annwall, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars.
(Volvo V90 R-Design)Also, both the 'R-Design' cars get an advanced sport chassis which, Volvo says, delivers an energetic, road-hugging drive. Volvo will also be offering different styling cues and trims inside the cabin as well. Sport seats, special steering wheel and different pedals and floor mats as well. Lastly, there is also an illumination package that can be specified in the both the cars.
The company has begun taking orders for the S90 and the V90 R-Design models in European markets but deliveries will begin later. The prices too are yet to be announced.
The Volvo S90 sedan will be coming to India pretty soon and the 'R-Design' trim might follow it to India towards the beginning of next year or so. Volvo had introduced the 'R-Design' trims for the its XC60 SUV and the S60 sedan in India in 2014.
