What's New?

Royal Enfield’s next model in the 650 Twins platform is likely to be the upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650. The upcoming Classic 650 has been spotted on several occasions undergoing test runs on Indian roads. Once launched, the RE Classic 650 will be the fifth model in the 650 Twins platform, after the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650 and the Shotgun 650. The Classic 650 shares its chassis with the Shotgun 650, notably the subframe which closely resembles the bobber style. However, the remainder of the bodywork and cycle components are distinct.

Spy shots of the test model showcases a circular LED headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and elongated fenders. Additionally, it sports twin peashooter exhaust pipes to enhance its retro aesthetic. For suspension, the Classic 650 will feature traditional telescopic forks in the front and twin shocks in the rear. It will roll on tube-type tires fitted onto wire-spoke wheels. Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, with standard dual-channel ABS.

The engine will be the same as shared with the other Royal Enfield 650 models. The 648 cc, parallel-twin engine is likely to produce 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3bhp at 5,650rpm. This power will be transmitted through a six-speed gearbox. Expected to hit the Indian market around Diwali in the last quarter of 2024, the Classic 650 is projected to be priced below Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Other Upcoming Royal Enfield Models are the Classic 350 Bobber and Scrambler 450
