14,535 Audi Q7s Recalled For Airbag Problem

The company first learned about this issue in March 2016 when an accident report showed 'an airbag not deploying according to the correct impact scenario' after which Audi took matters into its own hands. Audi immediately opened an investigation, and it began developing updated software in May.

Audi dealers will install new airbag control module software, which will update 'parameters in the triggering algorithm.' The 2017 Q7 was launched in the U.S. earlier this year and in fact we saw it make its debut in India too. In fact we'll see it in a more powerful avatar soon - the SQ7. The cars sold in India have not been affected by this recall and we'll keep you posted about the launch of the wolf in sheep's clothing.
