Highlights

The second practice session at the Shanghai International Circuit went underway and Hamilton (who was left out in the first session) set the fastest lap clocking a 1:38.315. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso who topped FP1 was second fastest while Rosberg came in third fastest.

After only completing an installation lap in FP1 and no timed laps because of a problem with the suspension, Kimi Raikkonen was able to get out on track and get some laps under his belt.

With all the drivers opting to go for soft tyres, the struggle to set in a timed lap started during the closing moments of the session. Alonso got trapped in traffic and tried to wiggle his way out but could not get free air to set a faster lap.

Even Hamilton faced issues in the closing minutes as he complained that the 'car did not feel right'. Red Bulls Daniel Ricciardo put on a good show and went in fourth fastest and was followed by Vettel, Massa, Raikkonen, Button, Grosjean and Kvyat who completed the top 10.

With FP3 and qualification set for tomorrow, Alonso looks in good form to dent the smooth run of team Mercedes. We'll have all the updates for you right here.
