Aston Martin Builds a One-Off Vantage GT12 Roadster

- It was built at a customer's request
- It is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine that produces 592bhp
- There is no detail on the price
An absolutely stunner of a car this is! The pictures that you see here are of the Vantage GT12 Roadster, a one-off creation from 'Q by Aston Martin'. At the behest of an enthusiast of a customer, the legendary bespoke department of Aston Martin created took a Vantage GT12 Coupe (which itself is limited to just 100 models) and took the roof off it and made it look out-of-worldly. The connoisseur of perfection that Aston Martin is, it took full 9 months to complete the project. Carbon-fibre body panels have been used extensively to stiffen up the body and a bespoke suspension was created especially for this project. The paint and trim on the GT12 Roadster is also bespoke, of course.
(Aston Martin Vantage GT12 Roadster)Under that lovely hood resides a 6.0-litre V12 powerhouse of an engine that belts out 592bhp and is linked to a 7-speed Sportshift III transmission unit. Just so that you know, the engine is fitted with magnesium inlet manifolds with a revised geometry, a lightweight magnesium torque tube and a fully Titanium exhaust system.
For the first time ever, Aston Martin made use of all its experience as a car manufacturer to fulfill the fantasy of a customer. But creating bespoke low-volume models is not something new for Aston Martin. In the past, it has created land mark cars such as the Aston Martin Vulcan, Lagonda Taraf, and One-77. The two company divisions that made this happen are the 'Q by Aston Martin and Aston Martin Advanced Operations. Aston Martin says that they are now ready to undertake more of such ambitious design and engineering projects from customers, one at a time of course.
(Aston Martin Vantage GT12 Roadster- rear shot)Dr. Andy Palmer, Aston Martin President and CEO, commented: "The Vantage GT12 Roadster is a hugely exciting project. Not just because it's sensational to look at, but because it vividly demonstrates the expanded capabilities of Q by Aston Martin. By incorporating the exceptional engineering capabilities of Aston Martin Advanced Operations within the Q by Aston Martin bespoke commissioning service we have a truly formidable creative team."
There is only one Vantage GT12 Roadster in the world and we would do anything to get behind its wheel.
