Auto Expo 2016: Mahindra to Debut SsangYong Tivoli Compact SUV

The Korean model of the SsangYong Tivoli gets a wheelbase of 2600mm and a width of 1795mm, thus allowing the company the scope to offer ample cabin space. It also gets a choice of three interior colours, namely, black, beige, and red, and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. Furthermore, the second row of seats can be folded down completely.

While the company is yet to provide details about its engine options, SsangYong Tivoli in India is expected get a choice between the 1.6-litre petrol and the e-XDi 160 diesel engine that power both, the Korean and Europe-bound models. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission and a manual.
The diesel unit, mated to the automatic gearbox, puts out 113bhp and 300Nm, while the petrol motor's performance is rated at 126bhp along with 160Nm of maximum torque.
We expect Mahindra SsangYong Tivoli to be assembled locally at the carmaker's Chakan facility near Pune, Maharashtra. With its list of rivals comprising established names like Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta, the SsangYong Tivoli will hopefully get an equally competitive price tag.
