Bajaj Auto Registers 7 Per Cent Sales Growth In October 2017

Bajaj Auto witnessed a positive festive season and the company's growth has been visible in the October sales report as well. The homegrown two-wheeler maker announced its sales for last month, wherein it sold a total of 3,82,464 units, a growth of 7 per cent, as against 3,56,168 units that were sold in October 2016.

Bajaj Auto witnessed a positive festive season and the company's growth has been visible in the October sales report as well. The homegrown two-wheeler maker announced its sales for last month, wherein it sold a total of 3,82,464 units, a growth of 7 per cent, as against 3,56,168 units that were sold in October 2016. The company's overall domestic sales (motorcycles + commercial vehicles) saw a 4 per cent hike, while exports too increased by 15 per cent.

Out of the total sales, Bajaj Auto's motorcycle sales for October 2017 (domestic + exports) stood at 3,25,778 units, growing by 6 per cent, as opposed to the 3,07,892 units sold during the same period last year. The company witnessed a marginal drop of 1 per cent in domestic volumes with 2,11,553 units sold last month, instead of 2,12,997 sold in October last year. Exports, on the other hand, were up by a healthy 20 per cent at 1,14,225 units for October 2017, instead of 94,895 units registered during the same period last year.

In the commercial vehicle space, Bajaj Auto registered its highest ever domestic sales with 35,657 units retailed in October 2017. The company witnessed a growth of 38 per cent last month, as against 25,784 units sold during the corresponding month last year. CV exports though dipped by 7 per cent as the manufacturer registered a sale of 21,029 units in October this year, instead of the 22,492 units shipped last year. Bajaj Auto's total CV sales (domestic + exports) stood at 3,82,464 units in October, growing by 7 per cent over last year.
