Bajaj Urbanite Scooter Spotted On Test Again

- The Bajaj electric scooter is expected to be launched soon
- The Bajaj Urbanite brand will have a range of electric vehicles
- New Urbanite vertical will have dedicated dealership network
Bajaj Auto is preparing to launch its new vertical of electric vehicles under the Bajaj Urbanite brand name, and the first electric scooter from Bajaj Urbanite has been spotted on test once again. Although the test mule spotted in the spy shots and video is fully camouflaged, some interesting design details can be seen, like the design of the tail section, with flowing side panels and a single-piece grab rail with a pillion backrest. An exhaust canister can't be seen on the test mule, and it's quite likely that the new Bajaj scooter will have an electric powerplant, instead of an internal combustion engine. But that will only be confirmed once we get more details about the Urbanite range and the new Bajaj scooter.

The camouflaged test mule of the Bajaj electric scooter seems almost production ready
The scooter appears to have a trail-link, single-sided front suspension, with a rear monoshock, and runs on 12-inch alloy wheels with a front disc brake taking care of braking duties. Other features include back-lit switches, all-digital instrument console and LED lighting all round. There is still no word on when Bajaj will finally launch the new scooter, but several advanced prototypes, and likely near-production camouflaged models have been spotted on test on public roads.

Bajaj is likely to introduce a range of electric vehicles under the Urbanite vertical
The electric scooter is not expected to be the only product under the Urbanite brand, although it will likely be the first electric vehicle from Bajaj Auto. The Urbanite vertical is expected to also include electric three-wheelers and four-wheelers (or, possibly electric quadricycles) all aimed at urban electric mobility and last mile connectivity. The electric scooter under the Urbanite brand will likely be launched very soon, possibly just before the festive season kicks in.
