Bentley Begins Production Of Its First-Ever Electric Car Ahead Of 2026 Debut

- Bentley is calling this new car a luxury urban SUV
- It will charge from 0-100 miles in 7 minutes
- 2035 target of going fully electric to be extended
Barely a few days after teasing its first ever electric car, British Luxury marquee Bentley Motors has announced the beginning of pre-series production of the model. Bentley says it is starting “an entirely new segment” with its “first true Luxury Urban SUV”, although the car still does not have a name. The brand says the SUV is on track for a late 2026 launch and deliveries will begin in 2027.
The upcoming SUV is designed, developed and produced in the Bentley facility in Crewe United Kingdom. According to Bentley, the SUV is less than five metres long and will deliver a driving experience and craftsmanship true to the brand. The claim is that the SUV will come with a capability of charging from 0 to 100 miles in less than seven minutes.

A new limited run Continental GT SuperSport model is due soon while the previous target of going fully electric by 2035 will be extended in response to growing customer demand for PHEV models.
