Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro: 2017 Motorcycle of the Year Above 1000cc

- The Ducati Multistrada Enduro has immense all-round ability
- It is laden with electronics, thereby making riding it easier
- It is equally good on the road and off it
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro had several things going for it - impressive road presence, equipment which lend it very good touring ability and decent off-road capability too and an engine which underlines the fact that this Ducati still has the heart of a superbike. The Multistrada 1200 Enduro employs a latest-generation 1198cc Testastretta engine which makes 160bhp power. It's the same engine as the Multistrada 1200S, but the Enduro gets a higher exhaust for more ground clearance and a larger rear sprocket for better acceleration. There are other changes as well, including several high-quality components and a new-age electronics suite.
(Ducati Multistrada Enduro wins the NDTV Bike Of The Year Above 1,000cc 2017)One of the most sophisticated and capable adventure bikes, the Enduro is quite well-balanced despite its bulk and nearly 250kg weight. And once on the move, it provides a level of user-friendliness that a wide range of riders with varying levels of riding skill will appreciate. And its very well specced with ride-by-wire, traction control, wheelie control, ABS mode and even suspension damping and rear preload. The bike also comes with easy to use electronic maps that adjust power output, and throttle response. Cornering ABS, lean angle sensitive traction control and the semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension offers the rider a level of confidence and control that is more than welcome.
It was the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro's do-it-all potential that impressed the jury. Sure, it's a very capable tourer, and sure it's got the electronics and hi-tech equipment to take on terrain long after the road ends. But it also doubles up as a very entertaining motorcycle with a level of performance that could easily rub shoulders with litre-class sport bikes. Priced at Rs 17.44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Enduro isn't exactly your affordable adventure bike, but it's got everything going for it and more which just makes it a great all-round motorcycle - worthy of the Motorcycle of the Year Above 1000cc award.
