Highlights

Lewis Hamilton was quickest in FP2 for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and just 0.083s separated him from title rival and team mate Nico Rosberg.

Hamilton was at the top of his game in the FP1 session and he went fastest in the second session with a best time of 1:42.113s on the supersoft tyres. Mercedes'advantage from the opening practice session was cut by a full second as Kevin Magnussen was 0.7s off the pace in third place.

Sebastian Vettel was in fourth place while Valtteri Bottas was in fifth and managed to get within a second of Hamilton as the supersoft running seemed to bring the field closer together.

Daniel Ricciardo was sixth fastest ahead of Kimi Raikkonen, with Ferrari relying on Raikkonen's running as Fernando Alonso completed just two laps. Alonso's car came to a halt out of Turn 19 with an apparent electrical problem.

Jenson Button sat out the first half of the session as McLaren worked to rectify a hydraulic issue, but he still managed to get on track to complete over 20 laps and set the eighth fastest time.

Daniil Kvyat and Felipe Massa rounded out the top ten. Romain Grosjean was only 17th quickest but he will start last after being handed a 20-place grid penalty for using a sixth of certain power unit components.
