- Deliveries will begin towards the end of 2016
Ford will be launching the all new GT towards the end of this year or definitely by next year. The American manufacturer had opened a month long window wherein 10,800 people confirmed an interest in purchasing the new GT. Out of these, 6,506 people submitted a completed application form in order to purchase the latest rendition of the Ford Supercar. Ford says that this is just one of the exercises to gauge the interest that fans and enthusiasts have in the Ford GT even before it takes to the tarmac. Ford is now in the process of reviewing the applications that they have received and will be notifying the potential owners in the next three months or so. The number of applications went up significantly in the last six days of the one-month window where 32 per cent of the total applications were received.
(2017 Ford GT)The 2017 Ford GT is a mean machine that packs a solid punch. At the heart is a 3.5-litre V6 engine that is Twin-turbocharged of course. It pumps out in excess of 600 horsepower. Ford has said that the body will be constructed out of carbon-fibre and the GT will have one of the best power-to-weight ratios for a car. There is the active aero package too, which, well, makes the car more aerodynamic and generates solid down-force as well.
(2017 Ford GT)According to Moray Callum, who is VP for Design, the 2017 Ford GT is 95 per cent complete. Only 5 per cent remains, where the engineers are looking to further lighten the weight and look at giving bigger rear-view mirrors. When launched, the Ford GT will be available in 8 colours for the exterior and 4 interior themes. The all-new production supercar is expected to start arriving in customers' garages by the end of 2016.
