Jaguar F-Pace Now Assembled In India, Priced At Rs 60.02 lakh

- Local assembly or CKD operations for the F-Pace begins in India
- The F-Pace won the World Car of the Year Award for 2017
- The price drop on the F-Pace is nearly Rs 16 lakh
Jaguar India has started local assembly of the F-Pace SUV in India. The SUV will temporarily only be offered in one variant 'Prestige' with only the 2-litre diesel engine and is priced at Rs 60.02 lakh which is a price drop of nearly Rs 16.5 lakh as compared to the CBU prices. The larger 3-litre engine, which came in the F-Pace R-Sport and First Edition, has now been discontinued and so have the two top spec variants. Jaguar will eventually offer other variants on the 2-litre engine too which will also be assembled in India. The F-Pace is now the sixth vehicle from the Jaguar Land Rover family to be assembled in India joining the likes of the Jaguar XE, XF, XJ along with the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque. The Jaguar F-Pace also won the World Car Of The Year Award this year at the New York Auto Show.
The 2-litre engine under the hood makes 177 bhp of peak power and 430 Nm of peak torque from its 2-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The F-Pace is still mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox which in turn is paired with an all-wheel-drive setup.
The locally assembled of CKD Jaguar F-Pace is not barebones though and comes well equipped with a whole bunch of features. The SUV gets Adaptive LED headlights, a large touchscreen with WiFi Hotspot capabilities, and the JLR Active key bracelet. The F-Pace also gets features like ambient lighting while exterior colours can be chosen between 10 options.
The Jaguar F-Pace will now correctly go up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV along with the soon to be launched BMW X3 and Audi Q5. The F-Pace also goes up against the likes of the Land Rover Evoque from its own family.
