Mercedes-Benz is planning to bring the E Class Cabriolet to India by the end of this year. It was only in 2013 that the E Class convertible was discontinued in the Indian market, but an increase in demand for premium cars led the company to bring the next generation of one of its finest cabriolets to Indian shores. The Stuttgart-based luxury car maker will launch the E Class Cabriolet E400 here with a price tag of about Rs 80 lakh, making it the E400's first time in the country.

There is little doubt about the myriad of features that the E Class Cabriolet has to offer; while its exteriors might remind one of the E63 AMG albeit the body-coloured bumpers, the interiors seem to have been inspired by the E Class Sedan. The large 18-inch wheels take the car's sporty quotient a notch up. As far as the cabin is concerned, other than inspiration from the E Class sedan, it may also get a wide range of wooden and leather options under the purview of their personalization program.

Talking about its mechanical specifications, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E Class E400 will house a 3.0-litre, V6, engine that puts out 330bhp and 480Nm of torque. It comes mated to the 7G-Tronic Plus 7-speed, dual clutch automatic gearbox that offers smooth shifts. It can go from standstill to 100Km/h in just 5.3 seconds and offers an electronically-limited top speed of 250Km/h.
