Microlino Electric Bubble Car Prototype Revealed

- Microlino showS its third EV prototype
- The car will have very minimal interiors and a removable rooftop
- At lower than $15,000 it will be among the cheapest EVs globally
Microlino's latest electric car has entered its final stage of development and now the company is showing off its third prototype. This new update shows off new features that were previously not seen. It features a new interior design that is very minimalistic that also matches the exterior of the vehicle. The interior features two digital displays, the first one behind the steering wheel showing off the speedometer and other instrument cluster aspects. The second smaller display turns into an interior control screen for climate control amongst other things. Microlino decided to use a touchscreen instead of physical controls because it can update the control stack using an OTA. This couldn't be done using physical controls.

The car has very simple, minimalistic interiors
The photos that have emerged also reveal the new folding sunroof which the company claims can be opened easily one-handed. This will be standard across all variants of the vehicle, including the base model. Microlino has also removed the door handles and instead of a key, it has a small start button. Using the button, the door pops open, but on the inside, there is an Aluminium handlebar.
The company claims that a third of the tooling for the chassis and body including the giant stamping tool has been completed. It is meant to help manufacture the largest Aluminium parts like the side panel.

The removable rooftop has also broken cover
'Together with our partner CECOMP, we have established a new company, Microlino Italia which will be responsible for production. At the beginning of the Microlino project we never wanted to be a manufacturer ourselves but we realised that this is the only way to control the quality and at the same time reduce the cost of production," said the company.
It will have a top speed of 90 kmph and a maximum range of 200 km making it ideal for urban trips. Currently, it is expected to be priced at $14,650 making it one of the most affordable EVs around, particularly in the US.
