But that is where the similarities end because the rest of the car is a whole lot different and spoke in detail about it in our first drive review as well. The redi-GO is expected to uplift the sales of the Japanese carmaker in India and is positioned as a country's first compact urban cross.

2. Volkswagen Ameo

(The Volkswagen Ameo was designed and will be made in India)
Another car that we are desperately waiting for to launch next month is the all-new Volkswagen Ameo. Touted to be a game changer in the sub-compact sedan space, the Ameo is the first model from the German carmaker to designed and built in India specifically for the Indian customers. Volkswagen has also promised that the car will feature a range of first-in-class features like reverse parking camera, rain sensing vipers, and cruise control among other exclusive offerings. The Ameo is also believed to set a new standard for safety in its segment as the car will comes with dual airbags and ABS as standard across all variants. The car is essentially built on the Polo's platform and shares the latter's powertrain options as well. So the Ameo comes in both 1.2-litre MPI petrol motor and a 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine. Mercedes-Benz GLC, this upcoming car from the Stuttgart-based carmaker is probably one of the most awaited Mercedes' to launch this year. Joining the crossover family of the Mercedes-Benz clan, the GLC was first showcased in India at the Auto Expo 2016. We drove the car last year in November and found it to be an impressive package and impressions about the India-spec is also coming up soon so you should keep watching this space. Interestingly despite the issue with diesel cars in Delhi, Mercedes-Benz India has decided to bring only the diesel-powered of the car, a 2.0-litre oil burner that will come in two states of tune - GLC 220d and 250d.
