Ola Electric Launches MoveOS 2 For Ola S1 Pro Users

Ola Electric has launched MoveOS 2 for over 50,000 of its customers of the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter. The software update is available for the users as an OTA (Over-The-Air) update, and unlocks all the features of the electric scooter which it was shipped with, but were inaccessible initially. The MoveOS 2 also promises bug fixes which caused range drop and battery discharge, but it remains to be tested if all the notorious bugs in the electric scooter have been addressed.

The MoveOS 2 brings in the compatibility with Ola's "Companion" smartphone application. This app lets the owners access their scooters remotely via their smartphones, enabling access to vehicle metrics such as charge status, range across its multiple modes, odometer reading etc. The app can also be used to remotely lock and unlock the scooter, or to open its boot. The OS update also allows users the access to the scooter's built-in speakers, and the users can pair their smartphones via bluetooth to play music on them. The update also unlocks features like cruise control and turn-by-turn navigation, but the latter may need owners to install a separate GPS antenna for smoother navigation, Ola says.

About 100 winners of the 200 km in a single charge challenge were awarded an Ola S1 Pro in Gerua colour.
Ola had recently also announced a competition, claiming that it will give a brand new Ola S1 Pro in Gerua colour to anyone who completes over 200 km in a single charge on their Ola S1 Pro scooter. Many owners participated in this competition, and Ola awarded around 100 electric scooters to the winners.
