Ola Electric has announced a major shift in its retail strategy by opening its sales and service network to dealer partners across India. The move marks the end of the company's five-year reliance on an entirely company-owned retail network and signals a new phase in its expansion plans.

According to the company, its company-owned outlets played a key role in building consumer confidence in electric vehicles and establishing the Ola Electric brand, helping it grow a customer base of over one million electric two-wheeler owners.

The transition follows a month-long engagement with prospective dealer partners, with Ola Electric stating that it received strong interest from across the country. While dealerships will now drive sales and service expansion, the company's existing outlets will continue to operate as experience centres for customers.

Commenting on the development, Ola Electric Chairman and Managing Director Bhavish Aggarwal said the shift reflects the maturity of India's EV market, adding that local dealer partners are better positioned to expand the brand's reach into smaller towns and neighbourhoods.

To support the rollout, BVR Subbu, former President of Hyundai Motor India, has rejoined Ola Electric as Senior Advisor. He will assist in executing the dealership strategy, having previously served on the company's board and as an advisor to Aggarwal.

Dealer partners will gain access to Ola Electric's existing portfolio of electric scooters and motorcycles, along with service opportunities arising from its installed base of more than one million vehicles. The company expects the dealership network to achieve meaningful scale by Diwali 2026.

The move also aligns Ola Electric more closely with rivals such as Ather Energy and TVS Motor, both of which rely on dealership networks to expand their reach. For Ola, the transition is expected to strengthen its retail footprint while addressing growing customer demand for wider sales and improved after-sales support.
