Bengaluru-based EV startup E3 Electric has entered India's fast-growing electric scooter market with the launch of the E3 Trion. Prices start at Rs 1 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom Bengaluru) for the base C1 variant, while the C1x and C2 are priced at Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.20 lakh, respectively. Bookings have opened in Bengaluru, with deliveries in other cities to follow at a later stage.

E3 Trion: Variant-Wise Details

As mentioned earlier, E3 Electric is offering the Trion in three variants: C1, C1x and C2. Here is what each variant has to offer:

E3 Trion C1

The E3 Trion C1, priced at Rs 1 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom Bengaluru), is the only variant to get a 2.3 kWh removable battery, giving the option to charge it away from the scooter. It delivers a claimed IDC range of 108 km, has a top speed of 67 kmph, and is powered by a 2.5 kW PMSM hub motor producing 120 Nm of torque.

E3 Trion Electric Scooter Launched 3

The base model comes equipped with Eco and Power riding modes, a 5-inch display, Google Maps integration, 14-inch tubeless wheels, 52 litres of storage, and supports 500W/750W charging, with a claimed 0-80 per cent charging time of 2 hours 30 minutes.

E3 Trion C1x

Stepping up to the C1x, priced at Rs 1.10 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom Bengaluru), brings a 3 kWh fixed battery. While the motor output, 120 Nm torque and 67 kmph top speed remain unchanged, the larger battery pushes the claimed IDC range to 165 km. Like the C1, it gets Eco and Power ride modes, the same 5-inch display, Google Maps integration, 14-inch wheels and 52 litres of storage. Charging from 0-80 per cent takes a claimed 3 hours 30 minutes.

E3 Trion C2

The range-topping C2, priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom Bengaluru), offers better performance. It packs the same 3 kWh fixed battery, but pairs it with a more powerful 3.5 kW hub motor producing 145 Nm of torque. Top speed increases to 82 kmph, while the claimed IDC range stands at 128 km.

It also gains a dedicated Sport mode in addition to Eco and Power. Equipment remains largely similar, including the 5-inch Insight Display, Google Maps integration, 14-inch wheels and 52 litres of storage, with a claimed 0-80 per cent charging time of 3 hours 30 minutes using the 750W charger.

E3 Trion: AI-Integration

The company says that the scooter has been built around an AI-powered software platform that continuously keeps tabs on the vehicle, analysing everything from battery health to riding patterns.

That intelligence is backed by more than 100 connected features. Among them are AI HealthScan, which performs a quick diagnostic check of the scooter, predictive service alerts, a trip planner with charger locator, connected navigation, remote battery monitoring, geo-fencing, dashcam functionality and SOS assistance.

E3 Trion: Price And Rivals

The E3 Trion C1 is priced at Rs 1 lakh, while the C1x and C2 cost Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.20 lakh, respectively (all introductory, ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Bookings have opened in Bengaluru, with the company planning to expand to other cities in phases. The Trion enters a competitive segment that includes the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube and Orbiter, Bajaj Chetak, Vida VX2 among others.
