Key Highlights
- The Skoda Yeti created a niche for itself in the compact SUV segment.
- It got an AWD system and could take challenging terrains with ease.
- The 2.0-litre TDI engine was quite refined and punchy.
The Skoda Yeti was one of the most potent premium crossovers in our market. It had a very short stint in the Indian market but gained popularity among those car buyers who were looking for a premium SUV which didn't feel as bulky. The Skoda yet didn't qualify as a hardcore off-roader but could easily tackle pretty much any challenging terrain you encounter on daily basis. If you are planning to buy a used Skoda Yeti, here are some pros and cons you should be looking at.
Pros
- The boxy and quirky looks of the Skoda Yeti was admired by many. The SUV was neither very huge and bulky nor did it feel too compact. The profile was straight and simple, making it very easy to navigate through city traffic and even on highways it proved to be an effortless cruiser.

The Skoda Yeti was offered with an all-wheel-drive system.
- The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TDI diesel engine never felts short on power and those 108 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque were very well translated on the road.
- The fit and finish of the cabin, material quality and overall build quality felt a segment above and the Yeti does age pretty well. It still attracts eyeballs on the road.
Cons
- In today's times, you can't call the Yeti a feature rich SUV. Of course you get all the basic features like auto climate control, steering mounted audio controls, auto up / down power windows and two-din audio system with Bluetooth connectivity among others.

The tall boy boxy silhouette of the Skoda Yeti was very nicely done.
- As said, the Skoda Yeti does the job when you encounter challenging terrains or rough surfaces, but it gets an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system instead of a proper 4x4 transfer case and even the approach and departure angles aren't as high. So it doesn't classify as a off-roader and is more of a soft-roader.
- It is quite an old model, so availability of spare parts might be an issue.
