Planning To Buy A Used Chevrolet Cruze? 5 Things To Know

The Chevrolet Cruze was one of the most sought after sedans nearly a decade ago. A powerful diesel engine was nothing less of a rocket booster, while the stylish and trendy design makes it a headturner even today. The Cruze was launched in 2009 but sadly was discontinued in 2017 with the exit of General Motors from the Indian market. Among the enthusiasts, the Chevy Cruze remains a hot favourite. But is it a practical buy in today's day and age? If you are planning to get the Chevrolet Cruze sedan, here are five things to know.
1. The Chevrolet Cruze remains a strong performer and only arrived with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The model was offered with both manual and automatic transmissions and was a driver's delight.
2. The Cruze was available a host of essential features including Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, leather upholstery on the top variants and more to keep you comfortable.
3. Chevrolet has also taken care of the safety and security features with the Cruze offered with standard dual front airbags, ABS, central locking system and more. The more recent versions get a rear vision camera along with reverse parking sensors.
4. The earliest examples of the Cruze would be around 13 years old now. Do check for suspension and engine health before bringing one home. Moreover, do remember parts were always in scarcity for Chevrolet cars even during the company's active period in India. It's a problem to source the same. That said, the automaker still has official presence in India with service network albeit the number of touchpoints are much lower.
5. Prices for the Chevrolet Cruze begin from as low as Rs. 2.5 lakh for the early examples, while the more recent versions can go up to Rs. 7.5 lakh. The latter are usually automatic variants and have clocked about 60,000-70,000 km on the odometer.
