Renault has launched the extreme Trophy-R limited edition of the Megane RS275 which has managed to improve Seat Leon Cupra 280's Nurburgring record for a front-wheel drive car by about four seconds. The car went around the tricky track in 7 minutes and 54.36 seconds.
When you compare the R version to the standard RS 275 Trophy, you can clearly see that it has lost almost 100 kgs. The engineers installed a smaller battery, removed the radio and air conditioning system and mounted lighter Recaro bucket seats made from a single piece of polycarbonate.
A 2.-litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine delivers 273bhp and 360Nm of torque. The vehicle comes fitted with a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, adjustable Ohlins Road & Track dampers, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and 350mm brake discs.
Renault will produce only 250 units of the Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R special edition and these will be sold in 15 markets starting later this year.
The exclusive styling package accessories are available at an additional cost of Rs 31,999 and will be offered across all Toyota dealerships nationwide.
