Actor Salman Khan has launched his new range of battery-powered bicycles under the Being Human brand. The e-bicycle is targeted at cyclists of all ages and is the actor's bit towards a greener environment, and that's why the models were launched today on the 5th of June which is also the World Environment Day.
While it looks similar to a regular model, the Being Human e-bicycle uses a charged battery pack that will take over propulsion system of the bicycle with the switch of a button. This mode helps ease out on physical exertion of the cyclist, especially when climbing steep inclines. These cycles have been tested by the company for about 1.5 years. The cycles offer a range of 30 km and come with a top-speed is around 25 kmph.
Former Suzuki Motorcycle India - Executive Vice President, Atul Gupta has been roped in by the brand to lead the charge at Being Human e-bicycles and will be the Managing Director and CEO at Being Human E-Cycle. An avid cyclist himself, the project is said to be very close to Salman Khan and the actor and his team worked on the same for several months before its commercial launch today. Interestingly, founder Salman Khan rode the cycle to the launch venue in Mehboob Studio in Mumbai from his residence in Bandra.
