Transformers 5: Mercedes-AMG GT R Replaces Bugatti Veyron as Drift

- Mercedes-AMG GT R will replace Bugatti Veyron as the character's disguise
- This is the fourth transformer vehicle revealed this year
- The car makes 577bhp and goes from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds
The release of the fifth Transformers movie - The Last Knight is still a year away, slated for a June 2017 launch. And it is clear that when it comes to keeping the buzz alive, director Michael Bay does it best. In the past few weeks we saw the new Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro, the new Barricade Ford Mustang, an all-new transformer - Squeaks that takes the form of a Vespa, and now Drift with the new Mercedes-AMG GT R.

Coming to the car itself, Mercedes-AMG unveiled the new GT R only last week at the Goodwood festival of speed in the UK. The third model of come out of Mercedes-AMG, the performance division of the Stuttgart-based carmaker, the AMG GT R is the most powerful AMG built till date. Producing a maximum of 577bhp, the car is powered by a 4.0-litre V-8 with twin turbochargers and direct injection motor and is nicknamed as the 'Beast of Green Hell.' This is for the fact that the GT R was put through some extensive testing at world's toughest race track - Nurburgring a.k.a. Green Hell, ironically for its green and pristine surrounding. To suite its title Mercedes will offer the AMG GT R in an exclusive "AMG Green Hell Magno" colour.
Sadly that won't be the colour of Drift in the movie. In the first venture, Drift, or rather the AMG GT R, will be seen in a special Black-Red colour combination as seen in the picture. Now this might not look as mean as the original colour but we do hope to see the Transformer is some real cool action sequence. We also expect to see some speedy car chases, considering the AMG GT R is also the fastest AMG ever with a top speed of 318 km/h and the fact that it can do a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in mere 3.6 seconds.
