Two-Wheeler Sales August 2022: Royal Enfield Records 61 Per Cent Growth In Domestic Sales

- Royal Enfield recorded 61 per cent growth in the doestic market.
- Its exports went up by 8.1 per cent.
- Overall, it recorded a growth of 53 per cent.
Royal Enfield has recorded a healthy uptick of 61 per cent in domestic sales last month selling 62,236 units in August 2022 as compared to 38,572 units sold in the same month a year ago. The motorcycle maker also recorded a growth of 8.1 per cent in exports, selling 7,876 units in the foreign markets as compared to 7,288 units sold last year in the corresponding month. Overall (domestic + exports), the company sold 70,112 units in August 2022 as against 45,860 units sold in August 2021, recording a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 53 per cent.
B Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield said, "We launched the Hunter 350 early this month, and the motorcycle has received an unprecedented response since then. We are seeing incremental volumes with this launch, and the initial bookings for the new motorcycle have been very promising. With excellent reviews from experts across the globe and increasing consumer demand, we are confident that the Hunter will continue this momentum into the upcoming festive season in India. In the forthcoming months, we will see the Hunter 350 start of sales across several international markets as well."
On year-to-date (YTD) basis, the company sold 2,64,376 units in the April 2022 - August 2022 period, witnessing a growth of 45 per cent when compared 1,82,681 units sold in the corresponding period last year. The company exported 48,496 units in the April 2022 - August 2022 period as compared to 30,857 units exported in the same period last year, a growth of 57 per cent. Overall, it registered 47 per cent upsurge, selling 3,12,872 units in the April 2022 - August 2022 period as compared to 2,13,538 units sold in the same period a year ago.
