Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Spotted

The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara's unveil is around the corner and the compact SUV is undergoing its final stage of testing. A test mule of the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been spotted doing rounds in the Delhi-NCR region just days ahead of its unveiling. Maruti Suzuki will take the wraps off its new compact SUV on July 20, 2022, and it will be taking on the likes of some of the highly popular models like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and obviously its sister unit, the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Jointly developed with Toyota, the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will share lots of commonalities with the new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, as both SUVs will essentially be sibling units.

The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is all set to make its debut on July 20.
Maruti Suzuki has also opened the pre-bookings for the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara at an initial token amount of Rs. 11,000. The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be spawned by Suzuki's Global-C platform and will come equipped with 1.5-litre mild-hybrid and 1.5-litre strong hybrid powerplant options, as well as share power outputs with the mid-sized SUV. The mild unit would generate 100 bhp and 135 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The other drivetrain is developed with THS (Toyota Hybrid System), and e-drive transmission, and has a standalone output of 91 bhp and 122 Nm of torque assisted by an electric motor that has an output of 79 bhp and 141 Nm of instant torque. Combined, the hybrid engine puts out 113 bhp.

The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be produced alongside the Urban Cruiser Hyryder at Toyota's Bidadi plant in Karnataka and both models, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti's midsize SUV will go on sale around the festive season. According to news reports, just like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be exported to multiple markets, including Africa and Europe.
