  • Higher variants can get expensive

Verdict

The Volkswagen Virtus is one of the most driver-focused sedans in the segment. It does not follow every trend or overload buyers with gimmicks. Instead, it provides structural safety, turbocharged performance, and true highway confidence.

As Bilal Firfiray summed up during the drive,

“The Virtus is like a proper sedan, it stays stable, is confidence-inspiring and built for the long run.”

If your priority is the number of features and ADS technologies, the Verna may tempt you. If rear seat comfort is the number one priority, the City is still strong. But if you appreciate stability at triple-digit speeds, solid crash protection, and turbo performance, then the Virtus is still making a strong case in the Indian car market.

Pros Cons of MG Astor

Pros

  • Premium interior with sporty design.
  • Advanced infotainment features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a seven-inch digital driver's display, ADAS, and an AI assistant
  • The turbo-petrol engine offers a smooth drive

Cons

  • The rear cabin width is not ideal for three passengers.
  • Does not get the option of a diesel engine.

Verdict

The MG Astor lands up in one of the most competitive compact SUV segments, and with a price tag of Rs. 9-15 lakh, it is definitely a very attractive proposition in terms of value for money. However, it lacks a diesel engine option and does not feel very sporty to drive.

The Astor is a real showstopper as it is very plush, very modern, and very feature-loaded, right from the connected car technology to the panoramic sunroof. So if you are looking for comfort, features, and safety at a very aggressive price point, the MG Astor is definitely a very attractive proposition.

Best For and Not Ideal For

Best For

  • Buyers seeking premium interiors.
  • Tech enthusiasts who want segment-first Level 2 ADAS, AI assistants, and connected-car tech.
  • Urban commuters who prioritise comfort at affordable pricing.

Not Ideal For

  • Families require accommodation for three rear passengers.
  • Enthusiasts require sporty handling, responsive steering, or dynamic performance.
  • Those requiring diesel variants, high mileage, or turbo acceleration.
