Fiat India that unveiled the 2014 Linea facelift at the recently concluded 2014 Auto Expo, is planning to launch the car in the first week of March 2014, our sources reveal. Pre-bookings for the car has already begun, so people who are planning to buy the car can now contact nearest Fiat dealers. The facelifted Linea is already on sale in some international markets.
Having the redesigned front grille, new bumper and new fog lamp cluster, the 2014 Fiat Linea looks more premium and matured than the current model. There are changes made at the rear as well. The rear gets a new bumper with an additional chrome strip, while the licensing plate has now been moved to bootlid, instead of the lower bumper. The side profile remains unchanged.
The car has received several changes inside the cabin as well, which make it a more feature rich car than before. It gets new three-layer, dual-tone dashboard, instrument cluster with chrome-ringed start/stop dials, steering wheel with silver chrome, centre console with integrated audio system and AC vents. What remains unchanged are the climate control button, door pads and gear lever.
In terms of technicalities, the car remains unchanged, as it carries forward the existing 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol and 1.3-litre advanced multi-jet diesel mills. The 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol unit produces 112bhp and 202Nm, while the 1.3-litre diesel unit churns out 92bhp and 209N. Both the petrol and diesel model will be offered with a five-speed manual transmission gearbox, which will transmit power to the front-wheels of the car.
