It's no secret that handling an automatic car is a breeze. Even with beginner-like driving skills, you can drive an automatic car like a pro. However, most people take its easy handling for granted. If you are committing these seven mistakes with your automatic car, stop it right away!
Driving Down a Slope in Neutral Mode
Doing this will prevent you from accelerating the car and only slow it down. It cuts down the oil supply, and the transmission is cut down from receiving lubrication. In short, this habit will lead the system to damage and wear.

Reviving Engine Before Switching Gear
We are all guilty of doing this at least once in our life. Doing this leads to a massive shock to the transmission. It generates more friction between the internal components that can damage the internal engine parts.
Shifting Modes When Car is Still Rolling
Shifting the gear when the car rolls makes the transmission system change direction. This habit will put unnecessary trauma on the gearbox. It would be best if you used the brakes instead to bring the vehicle to rest. Some people also shift into the park without hitting the brakes, which can harm your car's performance.
Keep Car in Neutral At Traffic

Switching to Parking Mode Even Before Stopping the Car
Shifting to the parking mode causes the car's system to insert a locking pin into a gear attached to the gearbox's output shaft. Note that the wheels are also connected to the same shaft. So when you hit the parking mode and try to roll the vehicle simultaneously, there's a high chance of breaking the locking pin.

Remember this – automatic cars depend on the fuel pressure to operate smoothly. Fuel helps the engine and other parts remain lubricated and stay calm. So, if the tank is at a low all the time, these components will wear out faster.

This habit can cause havoc in your vehicle, especially on cold days. During the winters, the oil thickens and tends to flow slower than usual. It would be best if you allowed the fuel to flow into the transmission and spread around for some time. Shifting into Drive mode and accelerating to a high speed right away can cause internal damage.
