Aston Martin Reveals 690 bhp V12 Vantage Roadster

- Powered by 690 bhp twin-turbo V12
- Gets tweaked aerodynamics over the coupe
- Limited to just 249 units
Having revealed the final generation of the V12 Vantage earlier this year, Aston Martin has now added new Roadster variant to the line-up. The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster carries forward the mechanicals of the coupe with the most notable change coming to the roof and the number of units being produced. The Roadster is limited to just 249 units, down from the coupe’s 333 unit production run.
The biggest design update is the incorporation of the folding soft-top roof. The rear spoiler too has been dropped though buyers get the option to add it back on. However, with the deletion of the spoiler, Aston Martin has made tweaks to the vehicle’s underbody to retain the same levels of downforce as the coupe.

Like the V12 Vantage coupe, the Roadster features extensive use of carbon fibre and lightweight composite materials in the body construction The wide body look, prominent grille and notable aero elements along the front, sides and rear are carried over unchanged from the coupe with the car 40mm wider than a standard Vantage. The Roadster also sits on model-specific 21-inch alloy wheels.
Power comes from the same 690 bhp 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 as the coupe with power sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Aston martin claims a 0-96 kmph time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 322 kmph – 0.1 seconds slower than the V12 coupe. Stopping power comes from carbon ceramic brakes as standard.
