Audi Q8 Concept Teased; Will Premiere At The Detroit Auto Show 2017

- Audi will showcase the Q8 concept at the Detroit Auto Show in January
- The teaser images released by Audi show the Audi Q8 e-tron concept
- The Q8 will rival the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe
For all those you have been waiting for the next big Audi, the Ingolstadt-based carmaker truly has something big up its sleeves. Based on a recently releases set of teaser images, Audi is all set to unveil the first-ever Q8 concept next month at the North American International Auto Show, in Detroit. While we still await more details about the upcoming Audi Q8 concept, the e-tron lettering seen on the front the car indicates that the Q8 will mostly likely be an all-electric vehicle.
While the Audi Q8 e-tron Concept's public debut is less than a month away, the production version of the car is expected to arrive only in 2019. Unlike Audi's full-fledged SUV Q7, the upcoming Audi Q8 will be a coupe-SUV and complete against the likes of the BMW X6 and the new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
"With the Audi Q8 concept, we have created a new spearhead within our Q model line. Its design strongly evokes sportiness and prestige," declared Audi Head of Design Marc Lichte. "What's more, we believe an important aspect of this showcar is that it offers a spacious interior with four equally comfortable seats, even with the flat roof line."

The renders revealed in the teaser images reveal a lot about the updated design language that the Audi Q8 will employ. Up front, you'll see that the Q8 will employ a slightly different design for the signature single-frame front grille. The black horizontal slats of the grille are now intersected by double vertical fins giving it a different character. The grille is bordered by heavy black chrome flanked by sharp LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights. The muscular front bumper looks well-sculpted with large air intakes connected by a sharp chrome chin blade with the e-tron lettering on it.
The side profile reveals the slightly curved bonnet and all the muscular character lines that run across the Q8. The flared wheel arches, bold shoulder lines and the coupe-like roofline does look interesting. All that said, the production version of the Audi Q8 could see a number of design changes and styling updates. Whichever the case we will get a better idea of what to expect for the Q8 only at the Detroit Auto Show in January. So keep watching the space for more details on the all-new Audi Q8 e-tron.
