Auto Sales August 2022: MG Motor India Sales Decline 11.4% Year-On-Year To 3,823 Units

- MG posts sales of 3,823 units in August 2022, down from 4,315 units last year
- Month-on-month sales also down by about 5%
- Company says its still dealing with supply chain issues
MG Motor India’s sales slid for the second month in a row in August 2022 with the company posting a sales decline of 11.4% year on year. Sales were down to 3,823 units as against 4,315 units in the same month last year. Month on month too numbers were down by 4.7%. MG had posted sales of 4,013 units in July 2022. The company continued to cite issues with supply chains leading to production-related challenges though it expected the situation to improve in the coming months.
The company said it had taken multiple initiatives to ramp up production to meet customer demand. These included the localisation of components and the introduction of Executive variants of its current product portfolio. The executive variants miss out on some features offered on the standard variants lowering the variant’s price and making it more readily available.
