- The Leoncino 500 Sport has been unveiled in China
- Benelli India launched the 2021 Leoncino 500 in February this year
Benellii has unveiled the Leoncino 500 Sport in China, the latest variant based on the Benelli Leoncino 500, but with some design changes. The Leoncino 500 Sport has the same neo-retro scrambler design of the standard Leoncino 500 that is offered on sale in India, but with some added cafe racer styling elements, and other changes. The Leoncino 500 Sport features a headlight cowl with a short windscreen, as well as clip-on handlebars which will offer a more aggressive riding position than the standard Leoncino 500.

The Leoncino 500 Sport gets minor cosmetic changes with cafe racer elements and slightly more power
The Leoncino 500 Sport gets other 'sporty' design elements, and bodywork. Apart from the clip-on handlebars, the Leoncino 500 Sport comes with spoked rims, and a silver-finished double-barrel exhaust. The bike also comes with a small, single, side-mounted pannier on the right side, and different braking system. While the standard Leoncino 500 comes with Benelli brakes, the Leoncino 500 Sport gets Brembo braking hardware. The 500 cc engine seems to have been updated as well for the Sport and now makes marginally more power and torque.

The 499.6 cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine produces 48 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 47 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. So, the Leoncino 500 Sport has just over 1 bhp more and 1 Nm extra torque, compared to the standard Leoncino 500 neo-retro scrambler. So far, there's no word on if Benelli India will see a case for offering the Leoncino 500 Sport on sale in India, or continue with just the standard Benelli Leoncino 500 for India.
