Italian motorcycle brand Benelli, which has been under the ownership of China's Qianjiang Group for over 17 years now, is getting ready to expand its TRK range of adventure motorcycles. Latest patent filings reveal the Benelli TRK 702, which will be a more off-road focussed model, and will sit between the TRK 502 and the TRK 800, which was shown at the EICMA show in Milan last year. The patent drawings reveal the design language of the TRK 702, which includes mounting places for hard-case panniers as well as body protection bars for off-road use.

The patent images reveal the TRK 702 with two cameras, one mounted at the front, and the other at the rear.
The drawings also reveal the introduction of two cameras, mounted at the front and rear of the bike. The cameras will act as "dash cams" which will record front and rear POV videos. The front camera sits just below the headlight, while the rear camera is mounted between the taillight and licence plate. The cameras can feed a live image to the TFT instrument console or can be used to record rides.

The Benelli TRK 702 will be an off-road focussed adventure bike.
The TRK 702 will be powered by a 693 cc, parallel-twin engine sourced from Kawasaki, which will likely be the same unit available in the CFMoto 700 CL-X. The engine has peak output of 75 bhp. What is not clear at this stage is when the TRK 702 will be launched, but it's likely to take more than a year to finally be revealed in actual production form. The TRK 502 is already a bestselling model in Italy, and Qianjiang has gone on to expand the Benelli brand's presence in recent times across the Asian market, including India. The parent company also sells a number of similar models under the QJMotor brand in China.
