Chevrolet Reveals the 2016 Spark aka Beat at the New York Auto Show

Chevrolet unveiled the 2016 Spark aka the Beat at the New York Auto Show. The company had teased the car recently and finally we get to see it in the flesh. The car will come to India next year and probably will be launched after the Delhi Auto Expo.
One look at it and you learn how much Chevrolet has worked to change the look of the car. The Beat is redesigned to emulate the DNA of GM which is why you see a new dual-port grille. We see the traditional headlamps while the character lines on the side hanker back to the design of the Sail hatchback.
Post the B-Pillar, you see the sloping roof and a new tailgate with an integrated spoiler. There is a separate character line at the rear too which starts somewhere in the middle of the rear door to the tail lamp. This bulge of a line gives it a sort of muscular look.

There is also a video which gives us a glimpse into the interiors of the car and Chevrolet says that there will comfortable seats with higher-quality fabrics on offer. The Spark aka Beat will also come with a colour-coded trim, trapezoidal air vents and a Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with 7-inch display.
There is a change under the hood as well as power is provided by a 1.4-litre Ecotec, four-cylinder engine that produces approximately 98 bhp. The earlier model produced about 77bhp and this is a huge bump in power for the car. The engine will be connected to either a five-speed manual or an optional continuously variable transmission.
Chevrolet plans to build the car in South Korea and export it to more than 40 markets around the world. We will see the car coming to India next year but more plans about the car will be revealed shortly.
