EICMA 2016: MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR Gets Updates for 2017

- 2017 model gets Euro4 compliant 140bhp engine
- Gets improved ride-by-wire, quickshifter and slipper clutch
- Engine gets mods to reduce noise and emissions
Italian motorcycle brand MV Agusta has revealed an updated Brutale 800 RR for 2017 at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. The 2017 model gets a 140bhp engine which now meets Euro4 regulations along with new forged wheels and updated electronics.
The new Brutale 800 RR has less vibration, with 50 per cent noise reduction compared to the outgoing model, lower emissions and more power. In terms of looks, the classic MV naked has been reshaped with a nip and tuck and now gets a split seat, retractable passenger grab handles , a new LED rear taillight and compact LED indicators.

The most important change is to the 798cc three-cylinder engine, which is now Euro4 compliant and most of the changes have been made to meet noise and exhausts emissions. The engine gets a new twin-injector per cylinder layout, with a refined cylinder head developed for noise suppression. New engine components include a harmonic damper, a new mechanical cam-chain tensioner, new camshafts and new valve guides.

The upgraded electronics package includes an improved ride-by-wire, an EAS 2.0 quickshifter and a hydraulic clutch with integrated slipper system. The new dashboard is equipped with an on-board diagnostic (ODB) function built into the dash.
Other features include an eight-level traction control system and dual channel Bosch ABS with rear wheel lift-up mitigation. The braking system is from Brembo, with a pair of 320mm floating discs gripped by four-piston calipers at the front, while the rear gets a twin-piston caliper on a 220mm disc.

There's a new steering damper with eight levels of manual adjustment. The front suspension gets a 43mm Marzocchi upside down telescopic fork with rebound-compression damping and spring preload external and separate adjustment. The rear suspension is a Sachs monoshock with rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustment with 124mm travel.
The 2017 MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR is available in two new colours, but the company has yet to announce pricing or launch date for the updated version of this gorgeous naked.
