Italian electric motorcycle manufacturer Energica Motor Company has set up a new department entirely dedicated to the MotoE project. Energica has been chosen by Dorna as the single manufacturer for 2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup, the first electric superbike class in the MotoGP Championship which will begin from the 2019 season. Energica has created a new area for the development and construction of the Ego Corsa racebikes to be used in the 2019 MotoE competition. In a statement, the company has said that the new racing department is located within the Energica production area and will also manage special and custom made projects, without going into specifics of what these 'custom' projects will be.
"The new department is part of Energica's evolution," said Livia Cevolini, CEO of Energica Motor Company SpA. "The new area will develop and produce the Ego Corsa racebikes involved in the next FIM Enel MotoE World Cup and will have 5 workstations. We currently have 5 highly professional experts dedicated to MotoE, but we are looking for new profiles, among others, to complete the team of the new department."
