F1: Bottas Fastest in Wet FP3 Session at the Belgian Grand Prix

A wet track saw drivers shying away from setting times in the first 30 minutes of the FP3 session at the Belgian Grand Prix. However, as the track dried up, the soft tyre compound came into play and the set times started to tumble. It was Valtteri Bottas who set the fastest time of the final practice for the Belgian Grand Prix. We saw Bottas doing this before this season at the FP3 session of the Austrian Grand Prix and Belgium looks to be the second time he's been faster than the Mercedes.
Bottas topped the times with a 1:49.465 which meant that Williams were as fast as the Mercedes car. There was additional pressure on Team Mercedes, as Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo went second fastest - only 0.268s slower than the Williams. Keeping Mercedes in the running was Nico Rosberg who was third fastest and 0.006s slower than Ricciardo.
Kimi Raikkonen was fourth quickest, while Hamilton was fifth. Hamilton actually set the exact same time as Raikkonen but is classified below him due to the Ferrari setting the time first. Alonso aborted his final flying lap because of traffic on the track as he went sixth fastest. Ferrari looked to be in a competitive mood this weekend. Daniil Kvyat, Jenson Button, Felipe Massa and Jean-Eric Vergne completed the top ten drivers on the track.
The attention now moves onto the Qualification round which will see not only a fight between the two Mercedes drivers but also a tussle for the top spot with the Williams as well. You cannot discount Daniel Ricciardo here too as he looked in top form and things will get even more interesting if the Ferrari drivers decide to join in to make things even more competitive.
